This kit is very easy to do. All you have to do is replace some existing parts on the circuit board. There are no holes to drill, and no circuits to build. In general, the result is higher controlled gain, and wider tone and frequency response the amp becomes warmer, and much, much smoother when it is overdriven. in tech terms, the stage gain is increased as much as is reasonable, and the preamp tube bias point is shifted to accommodate the increased stage gain.
