The Cool Gibson Jimmy
page wiring for Les Paul type guitars. Any guitar with 4 controls and
two humbucking pickups. The same setup as the expensive Gibson Jimmy
Page Guitar.
Everyone has been looking for this great setup for a long time.
This is the whole thing - 4 push pull pots on the four controls for
your Les Paul, Epiphone or other Les Paul type guitar.
This amazing setup has all the sounds in the world!
This
is a completely custom made item, made by hand in our shop. Please
allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. We NEVER have them on hand. this is
one of the most popular items in the world. If you are unable to wait,
please do not order.
Pickups
are NOT included. You need your own pair of 4 conductor pickups for
this project.
Each volume becomes a push pull coil cut, coil/tap control for its
pickup. These work all the time and switch the humbucker into single
coil mode for a clean, crisp tone. Having one for each pickup allows
the widest range of tones possible.
Another push pull pot is a phase switch, switching one pickup out of
phase with the other. A funky, “trick” tone with a lot of uses for
rhythm playing, funky leads, and a real cutting tone.
The
last push pull pot places the two pickups in series. This is not found
on ANY guitar (other then the Torres BluesTone) - this is a huge, big
fat tone - both humbuckers become one giant humbucker for a monster
tone.
AND the phase switch still works, so you can get series out of phase or
in phase. Plus you can get series in phase, out of phase with single
coils or humbuckers, mixed or whatever - you can see that there are
hundreds of cool tones readily available from this amazing wiring setup.
You still have two volume controls and two tone controls. Both volumes
are rewired as independent controls - they do not suffer from the
“gibson disease” (when you turn one down the whole guitar used to go
off - this is fixed).
Overall, the greatest wiring setup there is.
Pickups have to be 4 conductor pickups to allow for the coil taps and
other switching.
Available
as an in-shop installation or a as a prewired kit.
As a kit, we can do all the prewiring of the pots and controls but you
will still have to install the pickups and their leads to the push pull
pots. This is not real easy and does require good soldering
skills and experience - there is no way around it as your
pickups have to be installed in the guitar with wires through the body.
There are a lot of small wires to install into small tabs on the push
pull pots - don't think you can "fake it" it requires very good skills
to put together.
ILLUSTRATED MULTI-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE KIT.
Note: Any wiring with a series switch requires user knowledge.
In order for the pickups to be put in series one must be disconnected
from ground and the other must be disconnected from the pickup selector
toggle switch.
This requires user knowledge as when the pickups are in series the
pickup selector does not work the same.
Gibson
Les Pauls require long shaft pots - this is for guitars that are
actually Gibsons, Epiphones are not the same and use standard pots.
