 The Torres Engineering "Dragon Boogie" Guitar. The "Dragon Boogie" is a monument to excellence in a Stratocaster Guitar, both in appearance and in tone. The "Dragon Boogie" is reviewed as the absolute best sounding Stratocaster at any price, any vintage, anywhere in the world! The hand-picked Black Strat guitar (in the future it will be a Saga Gladiator) has had a Fret level and frets cleaned up for the best action, and is strung with custom Curt Mangan.0095 - .044 gauge Strings. The vibrato is reworked for smooth, free action and intonation adjusted to perfection with the installed strings. The Neck is adjusted to have the correct relief for proper action and intonation. This work totals $175.00 labor in the Torres Engineering shop. A Custom QParts Dragon pickguard ($100.00) is installed along with matching "vintage mint" pickup covers for the Custom Pickups. Three (3) QParts Crystal on Chrome control knobs for very good looks too! Pickups are the New Torres "Texas Boogie" custom handwound pickups and wiring harness. (Volume and tone controls, switch etc. all the electronics) Each pickup is optimized for its location in the guitar and the entire wiring setup is custom made. the middle pickup is reverse wound (and reverse magnetic polarity - called RWRP) for noise reduction - a high tech trick found on Torres pickup sets. The "Texas Boogie" Torres Pickup set includes: A Torres Rock pickup for the bridge A Torres RWRP Blues Middle pickup A Torres Blues Neck pickup. The custom Texas Boogie wiring harness features: A 500k CGE "smooth turn" volume pot with the Torres "high frequency retention" Volume kit installed. A CTS 300k tone control with a .015 Eric Clapton "Woman Tone" capacitor for the middle and bridge pickup - this is a custom wiring as normally Stratocasters do not have a tone control available for the bridge pickup. A CTS 300k tone control with a .033 "Blues Rock" capacitor for the neck tone control. All connected to a new U.S. switchcraft 1/4 in jack and with a new Switchcraft U.S. made 5 way switch for a very high quality, unique and excellent sounding electronic setup. All components are integrated in a carefully hand-wired setup with no excess wires and very low noise throughout. All pickups are individually handwound in our shop and all pass a 10 point inspection prior to and after being potted (sealed) in paraffin wax. The entire Texas Boogie conversion (as well as dozens of others) is available for your guitar in the Torres Engineering Shop or as Pre-wired Pickguards ready to drop into your own guitar with only a 3 wire hook up.
