Often you get a new amp, or a used amp and may be suspicious or may find that it doesn't perform as expected. A check out includes slow-turn-on on the variac and monitoring of voltages and current to look for any problems before they happen, also to form the capacitors in the power supply if the amp has not been used for a while. Plus visual and continuity check of the circuit and power supply, fix up of any minor problems, search for broken parts, test the preamp and power amp circuits. Check of speakers (if we have your speakers) check out and clean all pots, jacks, switches. Follow that up with a list of recommendations or a good bill of health for your amp. |
